Being a self-proclaimed “Life Simplifier,” I have fought the urge to blog for quite a while now because keeping up a blog doesn’t fit my idea of “simple living.” Recently, however, I’ve felt the need to share the abundance of “simple living inspiration” I have experienced.
I, along with many of my clients, have gone through a personal transformation over the past few months. I believe this amazing shift is happening all over the world right now. I absolutely LOVE it! Finding and living their life purpose is something more people than ever before are experiencing. Simple and purposeful living is finally making a come back.
Remember the 80’s? Big hair, big houses, big SUV’s, big over-scheduled lives, and then came the 90’s (and a lot more wealth). Big consumerism, big shopping malls, big work weeks, even bigger gas tanks, and the mic-mansions. While living our big complicated lives, many of us lost (or never found) our life’s purpose, became out-of-touch, disconnected from our beautiful planet, from each other, and from spirituality. Yes, churches and religion got bigger too (mega churches started cropping up everywhere) but in my opinion, spirituality got lost.
The came, what I refer to as the sugar high crash. Corruption in corporation after corporation, the stock market and real estate crash, the health care crisis, war, and the realization that we are destroying our planet, to name a few. In the wake of all these things, many people found themselves lost, distraught, and in some cases depressed.
As a result, we are finally starting to get to the good stuff. To overcome adversity, personal growth is usually required and millions of people across the world are choosing to transform their lives and the result is much happier people!
Many people are now choosing a life that is in alignment with their life purpose by downsizing their homes, simplifying their schedules, eliminating waste, and so on. Several of my clients have left (or lost) high paying jobs they hated, sold a large percentage of their things, moved into smaller homes, traded in their gas guzzlers or even eliminated a vehicle, and started businesses they love, providing services that people value. Their lives are significantly simpler – they get enough sleep, enough exercise, enough quality time with the people the love, and (most importantly) they LOVE what they do for work. If you asked any of these people if they missed their big houses and big paychecks, what do you think they would say?
I LOVE helping people simplify their homes, lives, and schedules, so they can get down to being truly happy and living their life purpose. I started this blog as a way to offer inspiration to those of you who are ready to transform yourself and your life and experience happy and simple living.
Make this your best year yet!
“To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter… to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird’s nest or a wildflower in spring – these are some of the rewards of the simple life.” ~Jim Burroughs
