I know that I am not the only one who had the impression that the jingle bells of Christmas were not supposed to be those of the cash register or the bleep of the credit card machine. However those who have just started to look at the cost of Christmas realize that this is where most of the ringing came from! Here are a few ways to deal with your Christmas debts.
The worse thing people have to deal with is the credit cards and the monthly payments that make Christmas seem dull after the event. So take a look at your credit cards and if you are unable to pay them off straight away then stop spending! Seriously if you stop spending then that total at the bottom of the dreaded monthly statement doesn’t get any higher. For those of you who have broken out in a cold sweat at the thought of stopping the use of credit cards then think of it this way, if you keep yourself to the absolute essentials then you can get your credit card statement reducing quicker than you realize.
As I have said a million times to my own family, “Lets have a garage sale!” Seriously all those presents that you purchased last year that never get used, all those toys that just get pushed to the side for the latest gadget, put them in a garage or a car boot sale and get some of the money you spent on them back in your pocket and put it towards your credit card.
Set your budgets and your rewards. Seriously rewards will make you try harder to pay off your debt and get yourself back on the straight and narrow. Budget yourself so you know how much you are going to spend each month and every third month as long as you have hit your target treat yourself to a dinner out and ensure that you are meeting your targets. Include your family if you are not sure they are backing you then tell them about the incentive you have set and how they will benefit.
Plan for Christmas next year. If you have found yourself in debt this Christmas don’t let it happen next year make sure you plan for it well in advance. If you plan ahead you will be able to get through the festive season without getting into financial trouble.
So without being too morbid about the festive season start dealing with your Christmas Debts today.

There are many people that struggle each month to pay off the monthly bills that modern day life throw at each American household month in and month out. People get drawn in by fantastic offers of low interest and low monthly payments. Payday loans are a one way to get by but there are risks involved in getting a loan to pay off bills.
One of the risks of getting a loan to pay off bills is that by getting a loan you then have another monthly payment or chunk of your pay going out the door AND you still have the monthly bills that you get every month coming in as well. This then means that you have even more going out each month than you did before you got the loan. False economy unless it is a consolidation loan that is going to clear other debts.
Another risk is that you could end up getting into the habit of borrowing every month in order to make your bill payments. And if it is a payday loan then you have to pay it back straight away in order to avoid the massive interest they put onto the payments if you do not pay them back within the agreed time. This is a very bad situation to get yourself into and a huge risk when getting a loan to pay off bills.
You are at risk of spiraling debts if you do not keep up payments and where bills such as electric and water are concerned you are at risk of being cut off if you miss payments but getting a loan to pay off bills is not always the best route. Try calling the utilities companies that you have the bills with and tell them that you are struggling to make payments and ask them if you can work out a payment schedule with them, this is a much better way to do things than end up deeper in debt.
These are just some of the risks and reasons that getting a loan to pay off bills is just that a risky business and you should try hard to get out of this situation without getting the loan.

Are you like millions of others loosing sleep with that horrible sinking feeling of credit card debts. Are you looking for a way that you can reduce your outgoings each month that doesn’t involve borrowing more money or loosing everything you have? There are many ways you can change your unmanaged debt around to be less of a burden so you don’t have to dread those phone calls.
First and most important thing is to STOP using your credit cards straight away. Cut them up and put the remains in a bag in a draw by your bed under a copy of your credit card bill. When ever you are thinking about using them look at the bag and look at the bill and remind yourself how much you want to get rid of that debt and how you want to be free!
The next step is to sit down, with your spouse if you have one, and work out a budget, this is the first and most important step in reducing your debts and getting to the solutions to get your creditors off your back. Knowing exactly how much you have to spend each each month and how much spare money you have each month. Work out how much your car payments are, how much your mortgage is as well as other expenses. Once you have done this and you need to be honest about all of your expenses and what you really need.
Pick up the phone and call the credit card company or companies explain to them that you are struggling with the minimum monthly payments they will appreciate the call as it will prevent them from wasting time chasing you for money that you do not have. Most credit companies will help you arrange some kind of repayment plan, it is important that you work with them.
There are a great deal of organizations that offer Credit Counseling if you are struggling to put together organizing your own repayment plan and need help then these Credit Counseling people really know their stuff. The best advice you can get is from people who know the best route for you to take.
Consolidate all of your debt is what would be considered one of the last options. By re-mortgaging your house you can release some of the equity in your property and allow you to pay off all of your higher rate borrowing. There are also tax breaks available for people with this type of loan.
The first hurdle is to accept that there is a problem and not to be embarrassed about it. As soon as you have done this then you will be on the road to recovery and a big tip is that talking about it helps everyone!

With the average household debt increasing year by year it is not surprising that there are more people looking to consolidate credit card debt into loan payments each month instead. This is more than understandable as to pay off the average household debt paying the minimum payment each month would take 30 years.
The 30 year number isn’t one that I just pulled off the top of my head it is fact. Fact that if you continue to pay off that minimum amount each month and don’t use your card you could end up spending a large chunk of your life putting expensive meals on credit card company shareholders tables!
By taking the decision to consolidate credit card debt into loan payments you are better off and in a stronger financial situation straight away. How do I know this, well the period of a loan is just that it is the length of time it takes you to pay off the money you borrowed. So if you borrow the money over 5 years then that is how long it takes you to pay it back!
So how do you consolidate credit card debt into loan payments? Well this is pretty simple as well. You need to shop around a little to ensure you get what you are looking for, there is nothing worse than signing an agreement to discover that you are stuck with something you didn’t want for the next 5 years (or longer depending on the loan). So shop for a loan, get quotes from different companies then make your decision from there.
Important note to remember is that you are in the driving seat take your time don’t be talked into signing something there and then at that moment in time. If you are a sucker for a sales pitch and need to avoid pushy people telling you how much better off you will be if you take out THEIR loan then get the quotes online!
Try not to use an agent to get the loan. They will put a percentage on the arrangement fee and you will have to pay it back, try and go direct to the loan company where you can.
Take your time, I know that if people are pushing you for payments then you need to get them off your case but if you rush you might again end up with something that you do not need or want!

I get asked a lot by people who are looking to get their finances on the straight and narrow for tips on how to start paying off credit card debt. So I thought it was about time I shared some of these tips with everyone not just those that ask me outright.
Tip number one to paying off credit card debt is to stop using them. Yes tip number one really is that easy, you have to know that by continuing to use your credit cards when you owe money on them is just increasing what you owe and makes your debt bigger. Stating the obvious I know but so many people fail to realize that when they are starting with paying off credit card debt is by stopping spending on the cards means that they are easier to pay off.
Tip number two to paying off credit card debt is to cut back on activities that cost money. Everyone has hobbies or regular events that they attend that normally cost. For example bowling teams, “But that only costs $14 a week!” that is very true however then there is practice so you have to rent a lane to get better, the cost of a new bowling ball should yours become damaged can prove costly. Simple things like playing in just the team, doesn’t matter if you don’t play as well the fact is that you are reducing your debt by reducing your activities.
Tip number three in paying off credit card debt is its not what you give it is the fact that you have given that matters. Yes the original saying is all about receiving but think about it this way, you buy your brothers and sisters birthday presents and in my house it was always that you spent $25 on someone for their birthday, but one year my sister was having a few troubles with work and she got me a $2.50 book from a second hand book store (I know it was that much because she left the tag on, sisters you have to love them). However it was the fact that she spent the time to go find the book that was the perfect gift that means more to me had she got the book for $100! (make sense now)
So these are just a few of the tips I tell people when they are looking into paying off credit card debt. Believe it or not as boring as some people think they are, they work and that is what you should be looking for methods that work!

Realizing you have college student credit card debt to deal with while still having to concentrate on studies and college life is something that no one wants to come face to face with. How are you going to juggle each month and still stay on top of what you are working on day in day out? Here are some ideas that might help you out.
My first tip would be get help now before your college student credit card debt gets too deep and you find yourself in a serious situation. There are counselors available at all college campus locations and if there is not one on yours then ask how you get in touch with your closest.
My second tip would be to look at getting a college student credit card debt consolidation loan. These loans can reduce what you owe by up to 54% and give you longer to pay off the debts meaning your monthly commitment is a lot lower than it is with your college student credit card debts.
Stop spending as much! Simple advice I know but hey there has to be a reason you are in this situation and I am guessing that this has something to do with it? For example do you use the shop closest to you rather than the cheaper one further away? I did when I was at college then I learned I could save about $75 a month just walking that extra two blocks!
And finally budget your way out of your college student credit card debt. If you have a set budget you will find it easier to control your money and what goes out each month. You will also find that the previous step comes easier as you know how much you are limited to each month on your spending.
These are just a few of the ways that you can work on getting rid of your college student credit card debt. Start now don’t put it off because you will feel better about yourself.

Credit card debt |
Around the middle of the month is the depressing time that the credit card bills normally drop into mailboxes all over the world. It is around that time when people look for ways to pay off credit card debt and start to get on the recovery highway. Lets face it none of us like owing money especially to companies that are just out to get as much as they can from us?
The first steps are to admit that you have the debt problem to start with. This is a massive hurdle to overcome when you have money problems it is easy to bury yourself in other things to keep your mind off the fact that you are slipping deeper and deeper into a sticky situation. Look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself what your balance on your credit cards is! OUCH! That is going to hurt, but once you admit it to yourself then you are one step closer.
The next thing to do when looking for ways to pay off credit card debt is to look at arranging a budget and ensuring that you have taken into account everything that you owe and everything you have coming in. This will give you a good indication on how much you owe (remember the aim is to not owe anything) .
You might have money hidden away earning a little interest each month that you could use, this is where a lot of people get a false economy. “Oh no not my savings!” I hear you cry, well yes your savings and the reason why you are better off using your savings as a way to pay off credit card debt is that you earn very little interest on your savings in comparison to the amount that your credit card company charges you in charges and interest. Think if you reduce your credit card debt and your monthly payments are less then you can soon build up your savings again once all the debt is gone.
Another way to pay off credit card debt is to get a second line of income, “I don’t have time to get another job!” No neither did I but I made some sacrifices and got myself a second for of income working two hours a day after my main job helping people that needed advice on getting out of debt. Use what you know to make money.
Have you called your credit card company and asked them to lower your interest rate? Probably not as most people are worried about doing it because they think its the credit cards job to chase for the money. Well you are the one looking for ways to pay off credit card debt call them and ask them to reduce your interest rate.
These are just a few of the ways to pay off credit card debt but if you have done all of these and you are still having problems then you need to think about getting some help from a credit counselor or you could find yourself in a situation where you are really struggling to get through the month on the money that you earn.

When most people are struggling to make ends meet towards the end of the month the big signs offering a payday loan look very inviting but when they start to take your whole pay packet each month then you need to start looking at how to consolidate payday loan debt.
First thing to remember is that you are not the only one that has these type of debts and no matter how bad you think your situation is there are many many more cases worse off than you are. However if you have taken out more than one payday loan in the past 3 months and you are looking for another then it might be advisable for you to get yourself some credit counseling.
When you are looking to consolidate payday loan debt one of the main things you will be trying to do is consolidate your loan from a very, ok extremely ok ok ok you got me a horrific interest rate into a more manageable rate and payment amount each month.
If you have your own home then you should look at taking out a loan against your property these are known as Home Equity Loans, if you don’t have any equity in your home then you should look at a personal loan. All of these are much much cheaper to pay back than a payday loan over long term.
When you have finally got to consolidate payday loan debt into one easy payment it is essential that you manage your money properly and that you are completely sure that you meet your monthly payments. Otherwise you could find yourself in a sticky situation with the finance companies as a whole!

Being in debt is a nasty feeling you can lose sleep, fall out with loved ones and worse of all seriously damage your future if you don’t deal with it straight away. Reducing Personal Debt is something that many people want to look at but getting to the stage where they are ready to admit they have a problem it is most of the time already too late. So where do you start if you are looking at reducing personal debt?
Start with Credit Cards! Their rates are huge and very much over rated when it comes to what they actually do for you compared to what it costs them. Contact your credit card and ask for a lower rate in 99.9% of cases they will do this straight away because they do not want to lose your custom.
Stop Shopping for things you don’t need. We all do it doesn’t matter if we have the money or not there is something there that you want so you get to it and whip out the credit card or use that special reserve that you have in order to get the item you crave.
I wrote an article about using your jam jars to get out of debt and in the long run this can more than help you in reducing personal debt. Put your spare change in your jam jars and see how much you save in the long run set yourself a target and you will see that there are a lot of coins you discover from the strangest of places.
